Direct mail answer’s on a postcard, says post group

June 5th, 2009 · No Comments

A new marketing tool to provide a cost-effective, flexible and convenient direct mail solution – at the click of a mouse – for businesses within the UK has been launched. This latest addition to the imail service is particularly recommended for ad hoc and low volume campaigns, enabling users to send physical, postcard-style flyers from their computer to addresses nationwide . . . and offering substantial savings.

The A5 postcards, using 250 gsm glossy paper, can incorporate a range of imail design templates or feature a company’s own artwork, uploaded via a web browser. The back of the flyer offers space for a tailored message and a stamp design that can include the users logo for added branding exposure.

UK Mail, part of Business Post Group, launched imail last year as an alternative to the British first class postal service, enabling users to send letters with just a click of the mouse.

The postcard service is particularly recommended for last minute campaigns or offers, with users able to send their mail requirements as late as 6pm for UK delivery the next day. The mail documents are sent electronically to the UK Mail sort centre closest to the destination where they are printed, enveloped and sorted for onward delivery – thus lowering costs by up to 60 per cent, says the company, and reducing the carbon footprint of a letter by more than 80 per cent.

Commenting on the launch of imail, Guy Buswell (pictured below), chief executive of Business Post Group, said: “We are committed to identifying and developing new applications to meet the needs of the marketing community. This latest functionality offers a communications tool that is cost-effective and responsive, enabling businesses to better reach existing and potential customers in a fast and efficient manner.”
