The Brazilian Direct Marketing Association (ABEMD) has published the 2009 Brazilian Direct Marketing Indicators, which show continued growth, albeit slightly less than previously.
The comprehensive study, commissioned by ABEMD with full support from Brazil Post, shows that direct marketing in the Brazilian marketplace was worth BRL 19.5 billion (about USD 10 billion) in 2008, a 12.1 per cent increase from 2007 – but lower than the 12.7 per cent annual growth since 2000.
Direct marketing represents 0.67 per cent of GNP and accounts for more than 1.1 million jobs in the country (10.8 per cent more than in the previous year).
