Job search campaign: a comfort break

October 23rd, 2009 · 1 Comment

It might be deemed a campaign that has reached gutter, or rather sewer level, but Proctor and Gamble has certainly come up with an engaging way to promote its toilet paper brand, Charmin, across America.

The company is looking to employ five ‘Charmin Ambassadors’ to staff its Times Square, New York City, restrooms over the festive season. The ‘Help Wanted’ job description says the ‘super-fun, enthusiastic’ candidates who win the positions must ‘greet and entertain bathroom guests’ and then write a blog about their experiences.

The five-week stint in the lavatories – starting November 23 through to New Year’s Eve – carries the handsome salary of $10,000: truly, a comfort break!

Successful applicants are told they ‘must really, really enjoy going to the bathroom’, according to the website EnjoytheGo.com.
