Two list managers have been appointed by the UK’s largest independent home shopping retailer, Manchester-based JD Williams Group (part of the N Brown Group).
MediaLab Group and Evolution DM are handling the data following a detailed tender process.
Debbie Barker, JD Williams Group direct mail sales manager, said: "The standard of presentations and proposals was of such a high standard we were spoilt for choice, so decided to split the huge four million-plus database between two excellent list managers, both of whom were identified as having strengths in several areas."
With 140 years’ experience, the retailer markets a range of products, including fashion, footwear, household and electrical goods, via more than 20 catalogues, trading titles, targeted media advertising and individual brand websites. The group’s core profile is largely female customers; average spend £60.
Marcus Orme, managing director, MediaLab, said: "This file has performed very well for repeat mailers. Many people, quite rightly, primarily associate this file with middle-aged clothing buyers. However, in addition to this core audience – which has been successfully mailed by prospective direct mailers – we aim to promote some of the wider audience available in this dataset.
"With eight separate brands falling under the JD Williams Group umbrella and age brackets spanning 40-70 years, we are certain this will have broad appeal."
Nigel Smart, Evolution DM sales director, added: "We are looking forward to representing the JD Williams Group data and working together to maximise revenues from the selected postal and email data we have been awarded.
"Despite market conditions, there is always demand for good quality, highly selectable, responsive customers and the JD Williams Group are the largest source. We look forward to discussing this exciting opportunity with our current and prospective clients."
